Belarusian furniture is presented at the exhibition in Cologne

IMG 3176January 14 saw the start of the international IMM Cologne exhibition in Cologne (Germany), one of the major events in the furniture industry. In terms of its scale, the IMM Cologne is comparable to furniture exhibitions in Paris and Milan. Last year the event attracted over 1300 exhibitors from 50 countries, while over 125 thousand visitors attended the event.

This year enterprises of “BORWOOD”, the holding of woodworking companies, display their products at the joint national stand. JSC “Gomeldrev”, JSC “Rechitsadrev”, JSC “Mogilevdrev”, and JSC “FandDOK” jointly with other enterprises of the conglomerate exhibit the Belarusian furniture made of solid wood, particle board, MDF and hardboard. Enterprises present new collections and furniture-making technologies as per preset parameters.

The participation of Belarusian enterprises in the IMM Cologne is arranged under the aegis of the Conglomerate of “Bellesbumprom” and the Association of wood-processing and furniture-making enterprises. The Ambassador of Belarus to Germany Denis Sidorenko, the Deputy Chairman of the Conglomerate of “Bellesbumprom” Mikhail Kasko, the Chairman of the Association of wood-processing and furniture-making enterprises of Belarus Valeri Bushilo, as well as Evgeni Vvedenski, the director of the exhibition services provider of UP “Belinterexpo”, part of the Belarusian Chamber of commerce & industry, attended the opening ceremony.

The senior management of the Belarusian delegation noted that Germany is one of the key Belarusian partners in terms of trade & commerce and investments. The last two years saw both a considerable increase in the exports of Belarusian products to Germany and the German investment to the Republic of Belarus. The Ambassador emphasized that wood-processing products constitute a solid share in Belarusian exports to Germany.

The display of Belarusian furniture at this large-scale international exhibition is a perfect opportunity to present manufacturing and export capacities of the upgraded Belarusian wood-processing industry. Nowadays, Belarusian furniture is a well-known brand overseas.
